A Scallop shell displayed with its convex showing, refers to St. James an Apostle of Jesus Christ. His lofty mission and special relationship with Christ, invites every member of the school community to remain faithful to Christ. There are three shells and the number “three” evokes the protagonists of the education offered at Hillrange: Parents, Teachers and Students, in the order proposed by St. Josemaria, under whose inspiration the school was founded.
The two chevrons represent the hills of Enugu. Their sharp peaks stand for the heights of excellence in character to which the students are invited.
The book closed with a seal represents wisdom and academic prowess, which requires a key to open it. This key is study, hard work, without which worthwhile knowledge is scarcely attained. The bright yellow colour that forms the background of the crest represents hope, happiness, optimism, and joy.
