This catch, one of the most recent in the school, was phenomenal. Imagine sixty-five energy-filled boys who had never seen a live owl before, suddenly see one starring back at them in the courtyard where they usually play during their break period. The owl’s huge eyes, pointed beak and long talons notwithstanding, it cowed under the intimidation of the boys who caught it but without harming it. The owl spent the rest of the day with us and was cut cut loose at the end of the school day with some of the boys waving ‘bye’. Many of them were glad that finally, they saw live, (some touched) this mythical bird in the part of the world.
