The Coal City Annual Essay Competition turned out eventful as one of our (SS2) boys, Obiora-Izuka Chinemerem came first out of 20 participants that made it to the final stage. The participants including three of our boys (Obiora-Izuka Chinemerem, Chikani Mathias, and Ugwu Akachukwu), were called to the podium one after another to defend the essays they had written and submitted.
In the end, Obiora-Izuka Chinemerem came first. According to the Judge that announced the result, she said that Chinemerem’s essay was entirely outstanding and his presentation, superb. Hence, they found him worthy of the prize. Our Winner went home with a whopping sum of 500,000, a plaque, a school bag, and a certificate. As a matter of fact, the award also came with a scholarship to study at the school.
A plaque was also given to recognize the school’s effort in training the boys.
